The trouble with Faulty Burglar Alarms….
Broken alarm systems, faulty alarm systems, low batteries – no matter what the fault is – it’s a real pain.
From simple beeping all night because of a low battery or a loud siren ringing day or night – sometimes waking all the neighbours for miles around which will not make you a popular neighbour in your area.
Some Typical Home Alarm Repairs
Faulty sensor on a window or door
If you are unable to set the alarm because of an open zone fault then you may have a faulty sensor somewhere in the system. In this scenario the system thinks a window or door is open even though it isn’t. In this case it may be possible to replace a faulty sensor and solve the problem. Another problem you may have due to a faulty sensor is false alarms. This also can be solved by identifying and replacing the bad sensor.
After 6 or 7 years the typical backup battery in a system will wear out. In this case we will call out and replace it and also give the system a full service.
New control panel and keypad
If you have an existing system that isn’t working anymore and is now obsolete due to age, you may only need a new control panel and keypad. This is because usually the old devices on the windows and doors and also the old bells are still fine. This is the most cost effective way to get that old alarm up and running again.
We will remove the old alarm control panel and keypad and replace it with a HKC secure watch panel with talking keypad. We will also connect back in all the old shock sensors, motion detectors and alarm sirens/bells and get the whole alarm system up and running again. The new control panel and keypad will immediately be able to diagnose any other problems, unlike the old one.
Beware of some companies who will tell you that you need everything replaced and give a price that runs into thousands.
New external alarm bell required only
In this case the bell outside your house doesn’t ring anymore. This can often be caused by rust. We will fix the bell if possible or replace it if required.
At ESP, we have been repairing all types of alarm systems for over 22 years. Sometimes, these repairs are simply replacing a low alarm battery or more often they involve a faulty sensor which sometimes comes up as a tamper alarm.
So, to keep yourself and your neighbours happy, ESP will gladly service and if needs be, repair your alarm systems.
