Common Faults found and repaired on Astec Alarms

Code 61 Low Battery  

This will say low battery on screen or battery fault. Can also be caused by a fuse If the wrong battery is installed in your alarm it can result in a fire.

Code 17 Alarm goes off in  windy weather

This system is over sensitive it will show up as pulse or gross fault.

Code 22 SAB Bell Fault     

This refers to the external siren ,it may need to be replaced or could be fuse or Cable fault, on key pad it looks like 5AB fault .

Code 21 RKP Comms fault

This refers to the communication between key pad and panel. Caused by cable or fuse fault or panel  fault ,never try to change the fuse yourself as this can blow the circuit board, which may mean a new alarm system, call an engineer .

Alarm wont beep during entry                  

This can be caused by a faulty contact on front door, may need to be replaced the contact can jam in closed position or open.

Code 77 call engineer  

This indicates that the system needs to be serviced.

Code 14 call engineer       

The system has a tamper caused sometimes by a broken cable. Other codes that may need to explained by an engineer  at our office  include 15 call engineer  16 call engineer 75 call engineer 76 call engineer 92 call engineer, if any of these appear on the keypad screen please call 01 8391188 to speak to an engineer.
